New trailer release which I think is pretty awesome.

Going to be so many new/bad players doing that run in and die way of playing in the first few weeks. :P

Actually the more I think about it, the more having "unranked" dedicated servers seems like a interesting move. Could lead to more even games instead of having a team of 10th prestigers against noobs with no weaponry. As we know, in a server, there is less control over the teams and who joins what. If everyone has access to the same weaponry (a bit like CS) then it could be good.

I'm guessing there will be some sort of "stats" even on servers themselves even if they don't contribute to the rank

No Dedicated servers for ranked game play = Epic Mistake!

It will just be full of hackers in 1 week!

Played it for 15-20 minutes there quickly before I go to work.

Graphics and menus are pretty similar to MW2. Just a few general tweaks. The aspect ratio seems different...on my screen the players and view seem "thinner". Might be a way to increase the FOV on my non-widescreen monitor. Whether this is just my imagination I dunno. There is a menu option for colour blind people. Not sure what that does but I'm guessing it'll be useful for those with that issue.

Menus have a face lift and the server browser (which is disabled by default in options lol) is clearly lifted from MW1...but it works fine so who cares. Leaderboards seem to work this time and the Barracks has a bit more information.

Matchmaking obviously works a treat at this point because there are so many players so it's easy to rank up if you wish to. It looks like server play is a lot more even...game I just played finished 7500-7200 on "Team Defender". Still trying to work out what that is though.

Weapons and sounds have definitely been re-done and sound a bit nicer. Seem to be plenty of new weapons. Kill/pointstreak system is apparently a lot different when you get to use it but I'm only Rank 2 so haven't had any experience. A few guys I played with online said it was a lot different. Game play is smooth and on servers the hit detection is immense so you really need to know the maps.

I'm a little sad there is no Demolition any more. Played a round of the new "Kill Confirmed" mode and it was frantic stuff. For those who don't know what it is - basically team deathmatch but when you kill someone they drop dog tags where they die. You don't get the "kill" added to your teams score unless you, or a team mate, run and collect those dog tags. If the enemy team gets them first you are denied the point. Was a lot of fun playing it.

Game seems stable enough and connected to matchmaking or servers first time.

You still get the annoying ping bars in the game, but the server browser gives a numerical ping so you know your ping will be pretty much 4/4 bars every time.

To sum up...it does definitely feel and play like MW2 but appears to have plenty of improvements. All the improvements people wanted from MW2. Servers seem great, the pointstreak system seems to be popular. The maps look like they're quite varied even though I've only played a handful for a few minutes.

It's definitely not as "skillful" as BF3, nor is it any where near as nice in sounds/graphics. Doesn't have the depth either - but that I mean the tactics or vehicles that make BF3 infuriating but a challenge. You could say it's BF3 for children and I'd understand what you mean but it's a great laugh none the same. So i'm glad I bought both games as they offer different experiences. Still, for anyone who had MW2 before and liked the game play it'll be good stuff.

It's probably a great mode if you hate snipers/campers. Won't be fun for those that hide in a bush across the map if they never get to collect the dogtags :)

Got Hardened Edition delivered this morning, just competed the campaign about 50 mins ago. Very happy with it now, campaign was really good (will definitely not be spoiling that). Graphics are pretty damn good, graphic style has change a little somewhat. It's sort of midway between COD4 and MW2 style with better graphics, it makes everything look a lot better. Knife and guns feel better to use as well.

Not touched MP yet, just about to jump on matchmaking and see how things go. Just need them to get COD Elite fully up and running and I'll be happy.

edit:

Played it online now, really fun. Bit buggy though. One game of TDM, my team had double the points of the enemy, got the final kill and it gave the enemy the win, hip fire is very accurate at mid to long range sometimes and most of the time aiming down your sights actually reduces the damage your weapons do a hell of a lot. Pretty sure they're all bugs though since it's kind of random when that happens.

Good apart from that though, Domination is good fun when I've got team mates that aren't complete morons. A few too many insta kill assualt rifles and smgs for my liking but I'm sure I'll be able to unlock stuff to make that less annoying.

Hang on a second....

Demolition is in there, it's in the Standard Plalists under Team Defender. You just have level up a bit before you can play it, that might have been why you didn't notice it. Oh and one final thing, I really like Pointstreaks, really good for someone like me who goes for the objectives (which should be everyone tbh) and it's got me quite a few nice things so far.

Been playing it a bit more this evening and it's really growing on me.

The new point-streaks really make a difference to the game play as people are more willing to carry out objectives and help their team mates rather than camping it up to killstreaks like the old game.

The pace of the game is very very fast. The new kill confirm mode is a spectacular blast. It's just relentless non-stop action. Combine with dedicated servers where the hit detection seems to be super sweet and it's just carnage. Most servers at the moment seem to allow you to have 5 of your own classes. Luckily these classes can be any weapon, any perk, any pointstreak. You do however have to go to a private game first of all and choose to create a class in there. But once you do it saves the 5 choices you make for any private or dedicated game. No more messing about for unlocks. If you want to rank up and unlock as you go then pick the matchmaking. If you just want to join a dedicated server and have a ROFLCOPTER of a time then you can do that too.

It's making sense now why the developers did it this way. It's superb. Really it's the best of both worlds.

Sure the game looks the same in terms of grapgics and sounds similar (but a touch better I think) but the new modes, new weapons, new maps, servers (PRAISE THE LORD) and options for ranking up or just having a quick blast make this epic. I can see this being some of the finest pounds I'll ever spend.

Sure you could call it MW2.1...but that .1 was all that was needed to make this game immense.

If you haven't bought it. Do so. Now.

MW3 is very different to MW2 so that's one COD game I can just tell people they're wrong outright when they say it's just a map pack. :P

Game is getting a tad less frustrating now. I made a new loudout about 50 mins ago that as it turns out is amazing. Also using that loudout I went from being level 25 to level 30 in a single game of Domination. The main problem with the game which is also the main source of frustration is the spawn system. MW3 has one of the worst spawn systems I've ever seen in a game. In that game I was talking about there, we were winning easily and I had a good K/D ratio. Another 26 deaths were added to that almost all in a chain, one after the other due to the game continuously spawning me in front of enemies. I don't mind dying as much so long as there was something I could have done to prevent it but there's nothing you can do when you spawn like that.

Still, I'm enjoying my loudout now. Oh and I have a huge dislike of Kill Confirm. A combination of being stuck with idiotic team mates and that spawn system makes it a game mode I will just stay well away from.

Saw that a little while ago. Funniest video I've seen on MW3 so far. Oh and Machinima Respawn have a 24 hour a day 15 day livestream going on for MW3 if anyone's interested. They're trying to max out All prestige levels in that time as well.

Good for a watch every now and then imo and seemingly they're hating the spawn system as well so it's not just me getting annoyed at it.

Been playing this all night. I'd now say as of tonight that I'm an above average player (finally) after many frustrating games and improving. Just realised after stopping while ahead and in ze zone I had my full on serious concentration mode face on. Was drop shotting, getting deliberate grenade kills, getting good kill streaks and I was shooting ze people in ze faces. Went 24 and 6 for my K/D in a game of Domination on Mission, I joined late on the then losing team being dominated. Turned that around right away and won the game at the end nicely. 1 of my deaths was due to me stabbing someone, the knife not counting then the enemy being able to knife me no problem a second later (hugging range, not just nearby) and 1 of them was due to me not really thinking and running out where an air strike was going on. All good fun.

Anyone here got any favourite class loadouts yet?

My main class runs the PP90M1 with Dual Attachments, Rapid Fire & Silencer and the MP9 with a silencer as my secondary. I run Frag for my lethal and Concussion Grenade fro my Tactical. Perks are Blind Eye, Hardline Pro and Steady Aim Pro. I use Specialist as my Strike Package with Assassin Pro, Quickdraw Pro then Scavenger as my 3 main point streaks. Death Streak (which noone cares about) is just Juiced.

I'm trying out another class with the same loudout as above but with my third perk being Dead Silence and my Perks in my Specialist Strike Package being Assassin Pro, Steady Aim Pro and Scavenger. I'll probs mix up a few things with my perks there, see what works nicely with Dead Silence. They work nicely just I'm having to swap out Quickdraw Pro for Scavenger. Would give up Hardline Pro but I'm putting that to good use atm. We'll see, works nicely atm.

I'm curious to see what you lot are running with for your main classes. :P

CM901 is a bit of a beast weapon.

Striker for closer quarter maps like dome and hardhat.

I've got a new main class loadout now. It's working very well for me atm.

Primary: PP90M1 with Silencer and Rapid Fire
Secondary Skorpion with silencer

Perks: Sleight of Hand Pro, Quick Draw Pro and Steady Aim Pro.

Lethal: Frag
Tactical: Concussion Grenade

Strike Package: Specialist
Point Streaks: [2 kills] Recon > [4 kills] Scavanger Pro > [6 kills] Assassin Pro

Death Streak: Martyrdom

I also maxed out level 80 early this morning after staying up all night at a friends place. I can now prestige if I want, sticking with having everything unlocked for the moment though.

Been a while since anyone's posted in here. Got my first MOAB tonight which put me in a good mood. Wasn't even aware of my killstreak until the moab popped up. Was playing Kill Confirmed on Mission and using a headset to sound whore the hell out of the game. I think the only reason I managed to get the MOAB apart from improving at the game is noone was using akimbo FMG9s (at least I don't remember anyone using them) which are insanely overpowered.

Changed my class loadout recently as well if anyone is interested.

Primary: PP90M1 with Kick and Extended Mags
Secondary: .44 Magnum

Lethal: Frag
Tactical: Portable Radar

Perk 1: Sleight of Hand Pro
Perk 2: Hardline Pro
Perk 3: Steady Aim Pro

Strike Package: Specialist
- 2 kill chain: Blind Eye
- 4 kill chain: Blast Shield Pro
- 6 kill chain: Scavenger

Death Streak: Martyrdom

Got rid of the silencer because of the reduced range and with assassin pro I can show up on the radar then disappear to catch enemies off guard and if I'm controlling an area, I often want the enemies to come to me so long as I have an alright team. Rapid fire just seemed to mess the accuracy of the gun. .44 Magnum feels much more reliable for a secondary.

Liking Kill Confirmed now as well. It takes some getting used to but once I did I was having a lot of fun with it, I'm usually on that more than any other mode now and the tags from either team allow me to use them for strategies you can't get in other game modes. The main thing I need to improve on now though is sniping, my quick scoping skill went way down after a month of not being able to play MW3.

a Massive Ordnance Air Blast bomb or Mother Of All Bombs

25 shooting only kill streak.

It only nukes the enemy team so its different to the nuke in MW2 and instead of ending the game it just continues afterwards but the team who set of the moab get double xp for the rest of the game

Wtf, suddenly the perspective in MW3 is wrong, look how small the scope gets. Weird. Normally it's much closer to the "camera" than this.
