You Scouts are gonna love this highly collectible bat that smacks baseballs at the other team, stunning the living crap outta anybody dumb, slow, drunk, mute or Australian enough to get in the way. The farther the ball flies before ricocheting offa some chucklehead's skull, the longer he's gonna be stunned. And guys who think they're tough because they're invulnerable? It works on them too. Now the bad news: You can't double jump when you're carrying this little beauty. On the other hand, double jumping never put anybody in a coma

A. Hit a guy with the ball to stun him. The farther the ball travels, the longer he’s gonna be out.

B. Now laugh at the guy because he ain’t doin’ nothin for a while but gettin’ beat on.

C. Get in there and take some cheap shots! You deserve it. So does he. Batter SWING!B. Now laugh at the guy because he ain’t doin’ nothin for a while but gettin’ beat on.

As a meidc i think the sandman sounds shit. Its hard enough getting people to play medics as it is, but now the sandman can stun any body even if they are unberd.

A pyro can render a uber usless with his compression blast , now so can a scout. I just have visions of scout noobs sat in their base spaming the baseballs at chock points, or random areas hoping to get hits.

My only hope is the balls are easy to aviod and hard to aim.

Its gonna be even harder for heavies now, not only does there slow speed make them easy targets for snipers, spys and demoman now scouts.

I agree coxy, scout is a fun class to play but this could totally spoil the game. How many people are going to bother charging ubers now when a scout can just come along and break it.

The whole point of a uber charge is to make you invulnerable to damage, you can take epics amount of damage yet a scout can come along with a baseball and break the uber, it makes no sense maybe its some sort of magic baseball.

I thought the whole points of scouts was there speed and been able to capture points and intel qwickly. A qwick example is on dustbowl on the last stage on the bridge, i can see scouts just sitting there spamming the baseball bat shit

I think valve have run out of ideas of how to add extra content to the classes, thats why its taken so long. I think they are more interested in left for dead these days :(

this new bat looks over powered and it changes the role of a scout

also it works on ubercharged people. That means when you are uberchraged there will be four scouts all stunning you and you won't be able to go anywhere.

It will turn scouts into a spamming class, and will be really annoying when a n00b is just constantly firing into an area and you get stunned and then get sniped. :x

Think a class limit is needed, i would say that a maximum of 2 per team

I agree. Although it looks like a killer pice of kit (being able to stun ubered players) I wouldn't expect it will be a piece of piss to pull it off.

That said, muppets spamming from spawns/windows/behind gates etc will ned close attention but that is the case at present.

they do lose double jump... so closing in on you will be ok... main worry as stated, is going to be rushing in with uber... bonk on heed, and ur stuck there with about 9 pyro's now blastin u away...

well most thought some of the pyro/medic/heavy changes would ruin the game, so ill wait till we see it in action

There´s definitely a new payload map in the making...dunno if it´ll be included in the scout update or will come later.

Lol, the last time they put up the Heavy icon set, the filenames gave away what each achievement did. Looks like Valve wised up this time around to keep people guessing..

On another note, I'd love the ability to run up to a heavy who's eating a sandvich and stealing it off him :P

After finding a russian site that said they had found the actual descriptions (translated in Babelfish :D ) i'd thought i'd better post them here, They seem resonable enough

First Blood - make the first kill on the arena
First Blood pt.2 - kill 5 enemies using "First blood" bonus. :?:
Quick Hook - kill an enemy on the Well before the round starts
A Year to Remember - kill 2004 enemies
The Cycle - kill enemy while in air, on the ground and underwater, all during one life

Doctoring the Ball - Kill 3 enemies while ubered
Dodgers 1, Giants 0 - Kill heavy and get his sandwich
Stealing Home - Start capping the point as soon as it becomes possible
The Big Hurt - Stun 25 ubered enemies
Batting the Doctor - Kill 10 fully charged medics
Beanball - Stun scout with his own ball
Artful Dodger - Get 1000 "missed" damage during 1 life
Strike Zone - Kill 50 stunned enemies
Out of the Park - Bat the enemy so he flies 25 meters
Triple Play - Cap 3 points in 1 round without dying
Triple Steal - Steal intel 3 times during 1 round
Round Tripper - Steal intel 250 times
Belittled Beleauger - Kill the enemy carrying your intel while you are carrying theirs
Fall Classic - Make 1000 double jumps
I'm Bat Man - Endure 500 damage in 1 life
Batter Up - Kill 100 enemies while double-jumping
Foul Territory - Cause enemy's death by stunning him
Pop Fly - Die because of double-barreled shotgun's recoil :?:
Brushback - Stun 50 capping/pushing enemies
Moon Shot - Stun 25 enemies for a maximum time
Retire Runner - Kill 10 slowed down Scouts
Caught Napping - Kill 50 enemies by shooting them in the back with doublebarreled shotgun
Side Retired - Capture the last point
Set the Table - Start 50 succesful point captures
Block the Plate - Defend the point 100 times
No Hitter - Steal and cap intel without shooting
Race for the Pennant - Run 25 kilometers

This list is from the steam forums but i have actually tranlated it aswell and it does mean this, ALTHOUGH it is probobly fake but most seem possible

Most of them look pretty good.

Laro showed me a pic from the steam forums last night that showed the current scatter gun next to the gun on the boink drink page.
The differences i spotted were that the barrels were shorter, but wider in diameter and no circular cartage holder. That coupled with the "Pop Fly - Die because of double-barreled shotgun's recoil " achievements certainly matches the picture.
It could well be a double barrelled shotgun. upsides being stronger shots? maybe a larger spread than the scatter gun? downsides being only 2 shots before reloading and possible damage when using it?

Hit and run anyone?
Drink up, run in, 2 powerful shots, run out, recover from the drink side effects and reload.

that would be good, a payload race, where both teams have to push their own cart while trying to stop the other team from pushing theirs.

Background suggests that their will be a double payload map, will have to wait and see

http://www.teamfortress.com/scoutupdate/energydrink.htm the achievement info is out and it looks like the russian webpage was right about most things, main points are that the new gun is called the Force-A-Nature and that it has a knockback effect :D

*Edit* The next part of the update has been released, new Community map CP_egypt and update to CP_fastlane, bit of a 'meh' update http://www.teamfortress.com/scoutupdate/egypt.htm
