anybody know which files exactly have the settings for:

- upper bar (welcome back, "nickname", "classname", Why dont you give him a shot? BEAT THIS: crap). I only want to keep the "View All" button of the achievements.
- lower bar (quit/disconnect button, and diverse small buttons) to make it half that high, as high as the buttons really.
- definition of where and how big the buttons are, to move them more to the left and being able to make them smaller horizontal/vertical.

I'm currently searching for it, but so far not found any.

from chat:
8:11 - DataStorm: I want to resize the fucking surroundings
8:12 - DataStorm: and the buttons and their placements
8:12 - DataStorm: I know mac users cant aim
8:12 - snuggles: Oi. |:
8:12 - DataStorm: but the buttons dont need to be THAT big
8:12 - GTFO. WhizzUK: lol

Current progress:

Updated TF2 to Lucky's latest version. Also moved files into a ZIP archive, as it's built into Windows where as Rar extraction isn't (afaik).

Updating my GUI again,

Found a bug whereby the textures would not reload after leaving a sv_pure 2 server (all gtfogaming servers) and therefore you have blank buttons,

for now I have therefore changed the "keep this menu up to date by visiting the forums!" button to "click this button to refresh the gtfo menu" and when it is clicked TF2 will then reload the textures onto the buttons,

sorry about this problem, but this is the only solution that I have :)

updating the menu again to add the new #14 server and now put the "click here to refresh the menu" button onto another button by itself,

i have also made a none console GUI for the menu if you prefer it,

EDIT: see main post for download links

I will update the main page with this one as it fits with the others, however if people prefer AA's console version an admin can switch it around if they like :)

Should it have a "Character Info and Setup" option in CSS?

indeed, and where is the "Report a Bug" item?

Never understood why you removed it on the old TF2 menu also.

lol I nearly did the same thing.

And yes data I did - ty btw ;] - but it would have come out around the same if I had made it myself, although it would have taken longer.

And DOD:S Game menu also still has the "show character info and setup" radio button on it, which obviously isn't needed - more of the copy and paste eh lucky :]

Might as well put up both?

Finally, thanks Lucky for your GUI. I was gonna find out how to make a .res, but I needed to sleep last night :)

Re: Connecting To Our Servers - Reserved Slot / Normal

Hi,

i was using an extended version of your TF2 game menu (there are other servers i play on too) for some time and tried your recent version but i was a little disappointed by it, i don't like that you-need-to-reload-the-buttons stuff. So i took a look at that new menu version and figured out you can do it without custom materials. So here i present you my material less version of your TF2 game menu, it's based on your gtfotf2guiJuly2010.zip file. No need to reload stuff, no error messages on sv_pure 2 servers and it almost looks the same :o).

I made the following changes:

  • removed all materials
  • removed the "Menu Refresh" Button
  • removed the GTFO logo from the menu buttons (i tested using the logo from the Start Playing button but somehow it looked too overloaded so the buttons are now without a logo)
  • removed the restriction from beeing visible only in the menu, the buttons are now visible in the ingame menu too
  • replaced all sub button images with text
  • the sub buttons now have a hover and click highlight like the big buttons (tried to apply these to the sub buttons of the Start Playing button but there seems to be no third state for these sub button images)
  • extended the brown button background to also contain the two menu buttons

Extract the archive to you team fortress 2 folder.

Hi,
How long should I leave after donating before whinging that it's not done anything? I donated yesterday evening and it seems like I still don't have a reserved slot for TF2!

Hi Rainbowlemon, we have been having problems since the hard drive on our old webserver got shafted. Things should be back to normal shortly.
When people ask me "Plz" just because it's shorter than "Please" - I feel perfectly justified to answer "No" because it's shorter than "Yes"

How does a server determine who to boot to make room for a reserved player? Is it random, or does the reservee choose?

I'm asking because I get booted a hell of a lot, and when I'm at or near the top of the board and having a good game it annoys the heck out of me.

Its random, and yeah, some servers have more donators than others. So change on those is bigger per non-donator on those.

No, it's not.

First checked are spectators, then highest latency. This is calculated the instant the reserved slot holder attempts to connect, using a single sample, so may not be accurate.

I consistently have the lowest ping whenever I play so that can't be it.

I'm curious as to what else it takes into account if you know?

As I said - it won't be accurate using a single sample to determine latency, unfortunately. But that's all that's used.

So I guess you could say it's somewhat random.

I have updated the GUI (however it is not uploaded yet, will edit this post when it is)

- Updated server #4 and #13
- Removed #14 and replaced it with a "keep this uptodate" screen
- Added button colours based on what type of respawn they have (The orangy, red ones are fast respawn, and blue is vanilla respawn)
- Added 100% more awesomeness

That is all :D

Updated the GUI again with recent server changes.

- #12 and #13 have now been removed
- The "Keep this menu updated" button has been extended out over where #12 and #13 used to be and now says "Read Me" on the button
- Changed the text colour of the "Read Me" button from grey to orange
- Changed #8 to arena
- Changed #8 from red (fast respawn) to blue (vanilla respawn)
- Added a + symbol to the left of the GTFO Menu bit as it looked pretty bland :)
