Wohoo I wuz the first....

Tho its a great game and I started the online games with it, it will never can replace DoD:s or earlier versions of DoD...

Maybe only game that can do that its TF2 when its been released...

I played it alot, but after a while the bomb-campers and AWPers started to piss me off. So I started playing DoDS, which I still like, although the old I-don't-want-to-play-counterstrike feeling is coming back a little. Why? Cos in DoD theres even more campers, and if youre on a non-limit server there are like 5 snipers in a team :x

CSS has lost the fun for me, i guess playing competetive gaming on CSS for 2 years straight will do that to it.... ohh well, i've got DODS and TF2 when it comes out

started off way back on original CS. beta 6...which is like mid 2000. had condition zero too. and now source.

lost interest in it a few years ago in all honesty but continue playing it on and off. some parts of it i enjoy more like the better accuracy on the weapons and more servers to choose from as it's a far bigger player base compared to DODS

notice a few people on our new CSS server today so hopefully we can get it popular in the next few weeks. gonna pass the IP to my real life mates who all play it regularly enough.

might even get a few of them to join GTFO if they're up for it :D

I think when it comes down to admin it will be kept seperate, although some poeple may have admin on both servers.... it may not be the case with all people.... correct me if im wrong G.

why not?

members pay for the servers and therefore admin them. if they decide not to play CSS then that's up to them.

It's all a learning experience, we'll cope i'm sure.

I know next to nothing about CSS, having played it very little, but moderating a server isn't exactly rocket science, more common sense.

yeah

i guess so..

was thinking more of the playing admin stuf.. tho thinking about that now most if it's kicking AFK's or banning the exploiters anyway which isn't too taxing on the brain either :)

I started with DoD:S Then moved onto CS:S. I still love DoD:S more though. DoD:S is just a more finished game that CS:S is. For example DoD:S has menu music and valve intro like HL2 does but they never did this for CS:S even though more people play it. Not to mention in CS:S it doesn't matter what skin you choose the arms and hands are the same no matter what team you are, lol! DoD:S doesn't do this because it was made by better people most probably.

Hooray for DoD!

I am still a CS:S player. But only for the Zombie Servers and the Hide & Seek mod. Far too entertaining for a first person game. Something all should try.

As for DoD:S though, after getting it with CS:S i had to give it a try and loved to play it. Stoped playing it for a while due to some blatent hacks abd exploits being ignored by Steam/VAC. But recently came back.

Both bloody good games to be honest. The root of FPS games on the PC.

Getting the GTFO CS:S server popular shouldn't be difficult. Its low latency compared the mahority and isn't filled with Bots.
Try running the Zombie Mod on it for a month and see what happens.

CS:S' variation to DoD:S is what's kept them both very popular.
Theres more servers and a larger playerbase to CS:S, mainly due to hte number of Mods available. CS used to just be 2 teams fragging, boming and killing hostages.

Now though theres the GunGame mode, Hide & Seek (awsome fun but rare) Zombie Mod and Zombie Horde, a Warcraft mod, Deathmatch/Team Deathmatch and many more.

Change the GTFO CS:S server into a Zombie Horde server and its popularity will rocket. Theres nothing quite so entertaijning as a Zombie match, on both standard maps and the specific ZM_ maps.

have played gungame mods for DOD:S... they're good.. pwned on them alot of the time due to the nubs that play it

remember spaded about 4 people all at once all 4 of them wildly shooting at (and missing) me with tommy's

also.. have you ever played Hidden:source? or is that the same thing as hide and seek?

full mod for CSS.... an ace mod... last i played there were only about 4 servers running it though..

the teams are police vs 'the thing' ... which happens to be invisable and only holds a knife.. and can crawl up walls.... was fucking ace..

shits you up though... your all sneaking about and suddenly the guy infront of you spasms and is ripped in two.. makes you jump... you can only just see the thing if you look hard... a slight blurry outline ... but if your laser targets it you see it and POW... then you get to be the thing next round.

tell you tho.. when you cans see the enemy you hit alot of nothing!... makes you jump when your attacked!

I haven't even touched CS:S, and it must be good... 2 or 3 years since I last played CS.

If I remember correctly, last time I played, I received such a beating it was embarrassing lol

Keep it. Counter-Strike is/was one of the most popular games, and since its update to the Source engine it has become even more embraced.

Counter-Strike: Source was the first game I played over Steam, never played the original. Been playing it for well over a year now.

It's just a matter of advertising. I'm going to jump on the server tonight and take a look.

is not like our CSS section is too crowded with threads either

I personally think it will remain a classic. I do enjoy it alot, even though ive put far more hours into DoDs. I still occasionly get hooked on it for a week or two at a time. Is kinda like going on holiday from DoDs :P

As I discovered. :)

I was just taking a look through the threads and thought my input would be valid. Then I went and found out that the server had been taken down.
