GTFO bunny???

Hi all, Well to start I'll just say that I used to play on your servers all the time before getting tied up otherwise and have never met this guy until now. So what did he do you ask? Well I was playing on #3 Flash and he was spectating(Nothing strange there I presume he is an admin.) Then I got team swapped and kicked respectively. No explaination was given even after I asked him. I asked why and shortly after he came onto the mic and I'm sure he used the F-word about 10 times, because I asked him a question. The question wasn't judgemental of him (EG "Do not team swap me!!!") I only asked why he kicked me and team swapped me. I told him to kick me if he was going to and then left the server.

I'm sure if you look at the logs for this server you will be able to listen to his profanity.(All good servers have logs as I'm sure you do, Yes?) My thinking is that he used the mics to avoid being recorded saying what he said,unless you have voice-recording in place in which case he won't be too hard to catch.

I would be very disappointed if I found your servers did not make use of this technology. Even so, I tried to record it myself but he had finished by the time I got it started. I told him to calm down and turn the mic off and I think he actually listened (Probably realised I had been recording some of it)

Many of your admins and members are great people however people like this bring them all down. I hope this isn't just brushed to the side and this guy let off. Having some friends, a freewebs site and the Internet can be a powerful tool in damaging this guys reputation anyway.

Maybe this guy was having a bad day? Maybe he now wants to apologise in which case I would be more than glad to accept it and put this behind us with no action taken against him.

Yes, you are 100% true, but my story here is still true don't get the wrong impression from that. I hid my Steam ID for privacy reasons. Disclosing your Steam ID in a public place such as these forums opens you to would-be hackers and other noobs. I have had my fair share of those people but it does make a good Youtube video. I'll wait to see if this GTFO Bunny actually pleads his case or not then I'll give my Steam ID to you.

Atleast someone is taking an interest in this, Thank you for that.

Your not at risk by providing it, anyone can view hlstats and find hundreds of thousands of steam IDS...

GTFO. Jamie, you can hide your Steam ID from Hlstats(Or any other similar place) if you wish. A quick E-mail takes care of it -they are more than happy to remove it for you. I believe you can also hide it using your config.cfg file.

I have a question for you- here it is.

Is it true that anyone who joins your clan becomes an admin on any server? (A member told me) If this is so then isn't it very easy for people like this 'Bunny' guy to go onto a server and start abusing their power?

I'm drawing from my personal experiences here that this happened to my old clan once. I used to run a clan but other commitments meant I had to give it up and let a friend run it for me. At one stage when we were small we tried having a strict entry test where people had to prove their worth.

So, as you do if they passed this we assumed they were the right material for an admin and so gave them the right to be admin on any server. We soon found a few of them had sweet-talked us during the entry test and were abusing their power.(Zomg perma-ban time!!!

Maybe you feel the current system is right for your clan and I won't argue with you in that case if that is your decision. After all you don't have to listen to me about this but that is just my opinion.

we do consider ourselves a mature and professional clan. The application process can take 4-8 weeks. No one just shows up and becomes a admin.

In Bunny's case, he was a long term regular before joining the clan.

Admins who are abusing their powers are shown the door.

You are having problems with one admin (who has not yet presented his side) so i dont think you need to start questioning our entire clan and our application process JUST YET.

Anyone who joins GTFO is granted admin rights. If we dont think somebody is suitable to have admin rights, then they wouldnt be let into GTFO in the first place.

You have made your case (even though you wont give us your details so we can find you), wait for Bunny to reply.

how do you hide it when you play then? it's visible to everyone in the game and ends up in our databases.

when you joined this forum you signed up with your email address, which is visible to all, and it records your IP address for everyone to see. indeed we already know you use nildram as an ISP and have a dynamic address.

you only get opened up to hackers and noobs if you use comical passwords like "password" to protect your steam login.

no you cant. you can't hide your steam id as you need it to actually join a game. it's what you authenticate with. you can't block it through your config. similarly you can't "email hlstats" and get them to remove your steam id or any other information about you.

Whoa! Hold the shit wagon for a while, Infact I couldn't be bothered to read what you wrote but I have a very convincing "Fake" Steam ID which you will think is mine, it is displayed when I enter servers and it looks real as hell- you may even contact someone else my mistake but it sure won't be me. Nildram is infact my ISP but why do I care if you know that? If I wanted to hide that I would.

How do you know I cannot Email Hlstats? Have you tried? Will you try it now? If not then I suggest you do not saying it is impossible. Nothing is impossible with the know-how and determination.

What I wrote is not garbage, it was intended to help you and provide insight into your clans potential failures. Who will find me? Are you going to kill me, burn my house? If you have found my REAL Steam ID(I doubt you have BTW) Then post it and I will honestly tell you if you have found it.

Do I care how many members you have had? The short answer is no. You may have a big clan or whatever but numbers mean nothing when one admin is acting like an asshole.

This topic has been turned away from its purpose into some kind of arguement with me. If you intend to resolve my problem end this crap now, otherwise I have no business here if this is just a joke at my expense. At the moment you are acting like noobs and not the 'professional clan' you call yourselves. feel free to email hlstats. you seem to have a fundamental misunderstanding about how it works.

do you think they run a centralised database of all players and have the power to alter information as they wish? for a second, comtemplate (if it was the case) how large that database would be.

now take a second to read the truth. a) we run our own version of hlstats. b) its hosted and run from a server we control and which the people who make hlstats have nothing to do with. care to explain what your email to whoever will achieve?

also stop talking fiction about fake steamids. when you login to steam with a username/email and password you are connected to an account which has a unique steam id. it can not be "fake" nor can it be adjusted, changed, hidden or "faked" to display something else.

fact is your steam id some nooby 20 million comedy and you've only been on steam for a few months. indeed you sound like you've only been around for 5 minutes with your total lack of experience or knowledge in anything regarding its operation or that of servers and logging technologies at large.

steam IDs are fairly useless on their own. Its your email address that is important (for obvious reasons) hence why my steam email is *only* used for steam. The worst someone can do with a steam ID is try and use a hacked copy of steam with your ID. You cant join an internet server with the hacked ID but could join other nub hacked servers and possible spread a bad reputation.

As long as you dont go posting your steam email (thus avoiding brute force attacks) then your steam ID will be fine. As you can see we could find your steam id without much difficulty as we simply ask bunny for an approximate time he was playing (or look for bunnys time of playing and use more legwork), look at the server logs for that time and see who was kicked. Its just easier if people do it the OTHER way round so we can search on steam ID hence avoiding wasting time. This is why we asked for it - it makes things a lot easier to resolve.

The principal server admins are GTFO. G and GTFO. Al. Feel free to PM those two people as they have RCON and full access to the HLStats as necessary (hence the administrator tags)

I believe at least one more left on axis and I moved a couple to even up the numbers. Think you must have been one of them .. Then i get the "why was I moved team"...sort of stuff. Then i get the admin abuse chat :roll:
