GTFO vs. UKCS (DOD:S)

Yo, what up guys!

I'm currently only speaking on behalf of myself, but I'm convinced that if this is proposed on the UKCS forums as well it shouldn't be too much of a problem to get set up.

Basically what I'm wondering is if GTFO would be up for a good old friendly match vs us at UKCS?

Not a full-on 16vs16, but something less crowded which allows for maneuvering and possible flanking missions - so what I'm thinking is from 10vs10 to maximum 13vs13. Obviously this isn't how the classic ED config is set up in regards to max players, but I'm sure it can be tweaked to fit our preferences in some way. We can also discuss time limit for each side, how many maps and class restrictions. We should set a timelimit so that both forums have time to prep themselves, both in regards to recruiting enough players, but also to get some hardcore tictacs set up.

Only suggestions, but here's my thoughts on the setup:
Player count: 12 players on each side, making a total of 24 (I know, my math rocks).
Class restrictions: 1 sniper, 1 MG, 1 rocket, 4 lights (rifles), 3 heavies (support) and 2 mediums (assaults). This makes it a total of 5 autoweapons and 5 singleshot weapons + MG and rocket. Should be alright and even. We could also add +1 to the amount for each class, so that if someone doesn't want to play rocket or MG, they can switch to the class they want without too much hassle. This means 1 snip, 1 MG, 1 rocket, 5 available rifleslots, 4 available supportslots and 3 available assaultslots.
Map Time: I'm thinking 30 mins each side, 2 maps, totalling at 2 hours. Too much? Too little? Discuss.
Maps: Maps should be official maps to be honest, allowing newer players to enjoy themselves as well. Personally I'd love to see some ordinary ESL maps like lennon, coire, santos, diversion etc, but that can be a topic for discussion of course. Kinda narrows down the knowledge of newer players if they are to be brought in, which I don't see why they shouldn't.
Date + Time: Sunday 30th at 20:00GMT
Server: TBC - Will see about a GTFO one.

UKCS vs GTFO, ?v?, 5,4,3,1,1,1, 30 min x 4, 2 maps. Time 20:00GMT.

We will probably need to discuss this internally too Primal just to see how many admins would be available/wanting to join in. More then likely we will probably open it up to be a team from the GTFO community, so including admins and regs. I take it you would do the same?

If you can get another 6-8 to sign up that would be great, in case someone drops out in the last minute due to unforeseen real life stuff. Always good with some backups

Also, we have discussed this a bit through steam, and 2 hours total might be over the top. What if we reduce the time to 20 minutes each side? Totalling at 1h20m. Also, concerning maps, it's probably better to choose large maps, preferrably official ones seeing as everyone might not know the esl maps. It'll also become a shit stalemate if we're 24 people running around on f.ex. coire, trying to make the best of the little room there is. I'm thinking argentan, anzio, palermo/salerno, donner and possibly kalt as good official maps.

looks like we have quite a few players already interested in this so we should definitely be able to get something sorted. I would suggest that before we finalize exactly who will be there, we should think about some dates.

I would suggest we choose two potential dates and then see which one most people would be available for. Once we have the time and date sorted, we can decide the exact class limits/map schedule

I agree. Do you think it would be possible to get enough players before december 24th? That gives us 2 weeks and 2 days. Judging by the posts made here the last 2 days I don't think it would be much trouble. If it turns out that either of us will be a man short, we can always just invite a randomer from steam friends

Say we have one date before christmas and one between christmas and new years eve. Personally I think it's too long to wait until after christmas, because I'm an impatient bitch. If we set the match to a sunday, it'll most likely be when everyone can participate. Pretty much everyone have sundays off. It'll also be well fun to play seeing how at least 50% will be sat there with a hangover. This would in essence mean december 19th if we schedule it before christmas eve. If we want to do it after christmas but before new years eve, it would have to be december 26th. These are just suggestions though, so if you have any comments, let me know

Personally I probably can't play the 19th

Means either move it one day, or play the 26th.

I'll create a poll, see what you think and make it run for a week. Since people probably can play several dates, I'll allow each voter to do max 3 votes.

Also, it looks like the response from UKCS is rather daft, so it looks like we can lower the player count to 10v10. Judging by players signed up from GTFO, you're already set. I'll push the UKCS players, and make sure we'll be at least 10 players.

We're playing 10v10 on the 26th. Sort out who you can get until then. We can play it on a UKCS server, since I've talked to some UKCS guys who've said they can set it up with ED cfg ++.

We're going to have to postpone this to after new years after all. It's been hard communicating with GTFO to discuss any date at all, and UKCS players are backing out one by one. Personally it looks like I can't play either, cus I'm invited to a family christmas dinner.

What happened with the UKCS vs GTFO was that most of the UKCS players backed out, and it was hard to discuss anything with you from GTFO.

However, now that the new year is over, we can start discussing dates again. How long do you need to set up a team, and what date suits you best?

Errmm that was just a kinda random time and was for the first poll, I hadn't changed it. We could do with finalizing the day and hopefully date by the time J is back, otherwise its gonna drag on for a while. I'll set it for the 15th, should be enough time for people to vote.
