Hardcore Servers

Postby GTFO. Jamie » 18 Feb 2010, 10:22

I tried a hardcore server last night for the first time with Whiteraven, and i have to say its the most fun ive had on BC2 so far!

We were on Killercreation #50 HC. If people have not yet tried Hardcore to see the difference, i really advise you to do so. Everything is just so much more deadly. Everything just felt more smooth and natural.

Snipers are one hit kills for chest and head shots

tanks are now feared due to how effective they are at killing. The machine gun on top will cut you down in 1-3 hits and you now need to do a good job of taking cover and clearing the road when a enemy tank comes rolling down your street.

and if you rush into a house with assault and take 4-5 guys by surprise, you will easily kill them all with the one clip before they get a chance to return fire.

Aye it was fun at points.
But much harder to defend agasint. Especially when the enemy uses the T90 like a long range field artillery and you cant get anywhere near to take it out.

The Engineers little SMG's are deadly in HC and to be rightly feared for their higher rate of fire and 'Spray + Pray ability'

yea im concerned also about how some players use the tank. Quite often, someone on offense takes the tank and sits at the top of the hill out of sight bombarding the objective areas. Then it will only move on when the objectives are destroyed and the team moves on to the next spot.

This tactic happens in normal servers tho, and hopefully on other maps and with more 'anti vehicle' unlocks (guided missiles etc) it will not so easy for them to do :)

That's how you use tank lol.

You dont just drive in, and get RPG'd/Mined/Air Striked/Traced - your tank (and mostly likely you) get owned within a minute. Complete waste of a tank.

Better to hold back blast the fuck out of the objectives and sniper points.
When people ask me "Plz" just because it's shorter than "Please" - I feel perfectly justified to answer "No" because it's shorter than "Yes"

yea i can see the advantages of doing that (on this map at least) but it quite often isnt the most help to the attacking team when their tank is sat at the top of the hill and perhaps not getting many kills, not hitting the right areas or not providing support for the ground troops.

Depends who is in the tank i guess.

I wonder if we will be getting some wide open maps which have about 4-5 tanks per team, like one of the maps in BF2.

On a normal server, you can deal with the tank even if it does sit out of the Defenders AO. Some suicide charges form a Recon and C4 will do the job...

But on a Hard Core server, you just cant get close enough to assault the tank with any weapon type. A few stray rounds will kill you quickly.

feels like skill and planning is actually needed, and if you step out of cover you better be sure no one is watching you
