HOT SHIT!

Postby GTFO. Luckyg » 27 Mar 2011, 21:17

Congrats to the GTFO. Blue team who just won the UKCS Highlander challenge, they fought off all the competition and all played very well and we are all very proud of them.

Prehaps now that we have tried out other peoples tournaments, maybe it would be a good time for us to try one? :D

WINNER WINNER! CHICKEN DINNER!

That is all.

Was great fun to play and thanks to all of GTFO Blue for their great teamwork and comms. I was pretty confident we would do well all the way through, though was nervous for the final (partly because of the opposition and partly because of the shitty map - I expected it to statemate and we'd have to sudden death, but the almost literally last minute cap saved us from that headache :)).

Thanks also to UKCS for organizing, all the other GTFO players for supporting and filling in as subs when needed, all the teams that got together to give us some much needed practice matches, and to Byte for taking time out of his busy schedule to give us an in depth tactical session.

My man of the match for turbine was Hildreth, who ignored the sentry position we gave him, and managed to set one up in a better spot and rack up the kills (as he did every map :P). For badlands it was Cyber for his well practiced spire jump. The 5gorge award has to go to Coxy for deciding he'd rather play DODs during one of the many pauses.

Prob not a good idea yet considering the commft highlander is up very soon, but worth considering definitley, i'm sure lots would be interested in taking GTFO. Blue's crown

I would also like to say a huge thanks to kugs. He put so much time into this that it needs to be mentioned; he voluntarily arranged most of the practice matches, wrote up pages and pages of tactics, managed to get Byte to go through the tactics, he set up the private web space for us to use and probably much more. We would've struggled without him.

Word for word, you've pretty much covered exactly what I was going to add to my initial thank you post from last night.

Other notable thanks goes out to:

- The M2B guys, Hampshire Heavies and Lokalen for the practice matches
- Byte for his excellent tactics and advice
- Peacemaker for setting up the UKCS config on the UT match server and allowing us to do the tryouts/practice on there
- Trell for arranging the entire thing
- Luckyg for setting up the Mumble chatrooms for both teams
- An Innocent Bystander for filling in as sniper at the last minute as well as being available as a sub for pretty much every time we needed one.

Hope I didn't miss any out this time.

Indeed. Again thanks to everyone involved and all the support surrounding the event and of course to UKCS for arranging the Cup. I thoroughly enjoyed myself :D

A few nervous bits, and being that stressed when my pc crashed loading up DoDs accidentally! :P

Was a lot of fun, hope to play more with you guys in the future. :)

Grats go to rest of the team for practicing hard, I literally played 1 or 2 games of practice and then barged into the team between casting. My sentry on Turbine was like a place that said 'I am pretty bored of sitting up top with Wrangler' so I moved up and went frag chasing. :D
