Anywho, I thought I'd post here to see if anyone else has any interest in this. I realise it's deadly close to our own LAN, been just a week later but it's still something to consider, especially if you live in the south (or not, hell I'm traveling 205 miles to get to it). Below is a little bit of information from the FAQ on the i43 event page.

What is the Insomnia Gaming Festival?
The Insomnia Gaming Festival is a gaming event for all ages, where gamers and industry leaders alike come together to celebrate games in all their forms.

Held 3 times a year at the International Centre in Telford, insomnia is a fusion of gaming, exhibitions, tournaments & social gatherings resulting in a festival that really does have something for everyone!

Where & when is it held?
The Insomnia Gaming Festival is held 3 times a year at The International Centre in Telford.

The first event of the year is during the Easter break in April, the second in the summer over the August Bank Holiday, and the third in November.

How much are tickets?
Bring your own computer/console (BYOC): £92 and allows 24/7 access to the whole 5 day event!
Note that during our early bird offers, tickets are as cheap as £63!

Spectator Pass: £10 per day or £25 for the whole event
This ticket gives you full access to the Exhibition where you can see some of the biggest names in the industry showing off their latest developments. You can also watch our world class tournaments live as they unfold, seeing the best in action!

What tournaments are running at the event?
We run prize winning tournaments at every event, which do vary from year to year as new games come out.

There are of course some firm favourites which nearly always make a return at every event. Counter-Strike Source, Team Fortress 2, Call Of Duty 4 and Starcraft2 are among the regulars at the event, but make sure you keep an eye on our tournaments page to see what we have planned for each event!

You can even setup your own tournament if you want! Just ask one of our tournament admins and they will create you a full tournament setup in our event tournament system

Also, if you find that people are playing a game that you don’t have, don’t worry! We have our own local Steam content server, which allows you to get your gaming purchases super quick!

What is the Early Arrival Service (EAS)?
Early Arrival Service is undoubtedly our most popular additional service available for the iSeries, often with over 50% of the entire event partaking!

Early Arrival Service (“EAS”) allows you to arrive from 6pm the night before the event (Thusrday evening), meaning you can be set up and ready to go the next day after a good night’s sleep, avoiding that early morning journey.

Although we don’t guarentee network or power will be available for your desk until 9am the next morning, it’s been a very long time since an event that didn’t have these provided on Thursday evening!

This virtually adds another day onto the event for many people! EAS evening has a great atmosphere, with the keenest of gamers waiting to get gaming, and definitely something you have to try at least once.

Is there a map of the event?
Yes.
Image

I've opted for EAS, so that's something to keep in mind if you are planning on attending.

As for accommodation, the majority choose to camp out which is what I'm planning on doing personally. Alternatively you can sleep in the communal sleeping areas (also know as the red rooms) or choose a nearby hotel/B&B. Unfortunately you cannot sleep at your keyboard due to fire regulations :P.

That's the basics covered, there's a huge amount of information going into more detail about the event on the iSeries event site. Also have a look at some of the pictures from the last iSeries event (i42) to get a better idea of what it's all about! - http://www.flickr.com/photos/mpuk/colle ... 544980512/

We are currently planned to seat in the UKCS clan box at the event, spaces are limited but there should be plenty of room left for anyone who wants to join in at the moment. If you want to sit in the box let NachoDuck know or contact Trell or Unspecified on the UKCS forums with your booking ID as soon as possible!

I'm undecided as yet. Definitely considering it though.

Can sleep in the toilets though, as this div 3 scout found out @ i42 :P

Glad to see some interest, I thought this might end up been a dead thread. Abit of an update for you all, Wizzo posted a thread on the Multiplay forums earlier today saying the management is considering moving to a new venue for i43, the Telford International Center. This would be a much bigger venue, with enough room for up to 3000 gamers (could move up to 5000 in the future as a minimum), its alot much more centrally located too which hopefully would allow more of you to consider it as I'm sure driving all the way to London if you live in the north doesn't sound too attractive.

Multiplay will make their decision on Monday based on what the community and those who have already booked and paid decide. Personally I think this venue looks really awesome, there's alot more to do around the area and it's closer to me aswell.

You can read more about this on the Multiplay forums thread - http://forums.multiplay.co.uk/insomnia4 ... -v-telford

Understandable, i43 is abit more of a financial commitment than our LAN. However remember that early bird is still on until the end of the month afterwards the price will go up to the full ticket price.

Abit of ticket info, I'll update the OP with the Telford information when Multiplay updates their FAQs.

With the announcement of our move to the International Centre in Telford, the increased capacity to 3000 players and our awesome 20% off Early Bird ticket discount still available until 31st May, tickets have been flying out the door for the UK’s Biggest Gaming Festival!

With only 3 weeks since i42, we are now well over 1,000 tickets sold for Insomnia43 which is sure to be the biggest gaming event of the year in the UK. That’s over a third sold already!

If you haven’t secured your ticket yet, you need to hurry! With only 2 weeks remaining in our Early Bird discount, you need to take advantage of the massive 20% off before it’s too late!

We’ve also announced the prize pots for all the i43 Tournaments, including Counter-Strike Source, Team Fortress 2 and Halo Reach, with an amazing guaranteed minimum tournament prize pot of over £22,000!

Make sure you secure your seat!

Hmmm... Is the early bird thing still on by Wed? That is when I get paid.

I think I will come along. But it means I won't be buying any Warhammer this month. Sly will have to stop me :P

Yeh early bird lasts until 31st May, it's £15 on top for the Early Arrival Service if you want to come earlier as well, I'm planning on going down on the 25th to get setup a bit earlier.

Yes Hooper, we're in the UKCS clan box. They currently have 20 people confirmed, with 2 unconfirmed but expected, so that's 12/16 (from the confirmed bookings) people short of the requirement for the box, but they are pretty confident that they'll get the numbers :)

Let me know you're booking information if you are coming and want a spot :)

/gatecrashes, avoids abuse from GTFO members ;)

Hey chaps, if you are going to i43 and you don't mind bunking up with some of us from UKCS, we'd love to have you along. It won't be UKCS centric if you're worried about that- just people from UKCS going. :)

If you do book tickets just drop myself or Trell a line with your booking ID. It would also help if you signed up on our forums too, just so you can access all the i43 related stuff that's private. We've also only got another 10 spaces free/unaccounted for and they're going fast.

Would be ace to see some more of you GTFO guys there. <3

I forgot to mention that the Early bird thing ends on 31st May, so if you want to get 20% off the ticket price do it before then! :)

Right, i'm putting this on hold for now

My 6v6 team is planning on going to Summer Assembly (in Helsinki) so i need to get some money together for a plane ticket (and SA, V festival and i43 in the same month is... busy).

So, if i manage to get a job i'll go to all 3, but if i can't then i43 is getting to boot
