For fucks sake. Who doesn't play Video Games !!!

This will be used as an excuse to attempt to censor and control the world of gaming.

It is probably the best military simulator out there and it’s one of the hottest. I see MW2 more as part of my training-simulation than anything else

wut? I would have loved to be able to crouch behind cover and recover instantly from crippling shots to the chest and legs.

Weird how they implicate video games, but not his religion, which in this case, was much more pertaining to the case then a video game they found on his computer in my opinion.

DISCLAIMER: I'm not saying being religious is a bad thing. It's just more relevant in this case than COD.

i think it deserves its own thread, yours discusses the events of the attacks, whilst this is showing the media incompetence and hate rid toward video games and finding any excuse to continue their war against video games.

This is an interesting thread. I've just Googled "blame video games" and spent about two hours reading articles (I don't keep up with current affairs, so know little of the news - no news is good news!).

A name that keeps coming up is one RIGHT TOOL: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Thompson_(activist)

He is ridiculous. I wonder if he lost all his pocket money quarters on a pac-man arcade machine when he was a kid. Or perhaps his farm keeps dying on FB. Or perhaps he's just a complete dick.

I don't fully understand why people WANT to blame gaming for violence. Perhaps it's because our society doesn't like responsibility and would rather not blame bad parenting (not that every case is automatically that, more likely pre-existing mental conditions), shirking responsibility requires a scapegoat and gaming is easy to choose.

Looks like one of the shops in Norway is actually gonna take MW2 and WoW (and a slew of other games) out of their shop because of this lunatic ...

http://www.vg247.com/2011/07/29/coop-no ... a-murders/

I hate it when the acts of one insane man impact the rest of the (sane) community. People that have this sort of problem won't be stopped by a simple games ban in the shops. Also, and this is what I find weird, they blame games. But how did he acquire the guns? To me it just seems a simple solution to blame games.
