Minimum HD Screen Size

Postby GTFO. Null » 05 Feb 2008, 21:56

I've been doing a bit of searching for a new TV, HD of course. 8)

Does anyone know what the minimum screen size in inches is to support full 1080p (1920x1080)? The lowest I've found is 37".

37" is minimum size for full HD.

Thats possibly the only thing i got from working at PC World...
When people ask me "Plz" just because it's shorter than "Please" - I feel perfectly justified to answer "No" because it's shorter than "Yes"

That's probably the minimum then. I've seen a nice one over at Play.

I work at comet at the moment. And i can actually tell you that there is a single 32" model that was released onto the market that supports 1080p. I was playing with it the other day. Is a Sharp.
I was speaking to some panasonic and sony reps but they said that its not profitable to make full HD tvs any smaller then 37". And you wouldnt really notice the higher quality at any smaller sizes. (even though you do with the 32".)
Ive just ordered a Panasonic 37" 1080p and that will do fine for me.

However, my guess is that in about a year or so, 50" 1080p tvs will be considered small and will be cheap as chips.

Hmm... I suppose you could run 1080i/p at any physical size, but obviously you wouldn't notice the "HD" until it reaches larger sizes such as 37" and up which is where SD dies.
