How does your desk PC work, with cooling and all that? And what's holding all the bits together?
Work? Well it hardly does, I mean, I did build it, so I was quite impressed just to get a few of the parts fitting together. It doesnt really function like a normal PC though, I try to think of it as being almost autonomous, and sometimes in a bit of a bad mood.
As you can see it'd about as tidy as your average teenager. MoBo is screwed directly onto some wood, the PSU on a shelving bracket, the HDDs in a caddy I ripped out an old ATX case, the same with the optical drive and fan controller down below.
The cooling flows from back to front, with a 120mm intake passing air over the motherboard/shelf, then forced upwards, and out the bank of 3 80mm fans. It's a noisy beast and sounds like a small aircraft.
tha main structure is just part of a flatpack desk. I added a door to the front made from wood and uv perspex type stuff. Still working on the lower section around the optical drive. And eventually need to tidy the whole thing up. My 'dive' is fairly neat. But my PC not so..
