So, i got a new map going. Looks like im hooked on this. I am not sure office desk will be a big hit (for all i know, maybe it will), so i wanted to start on another map, that doesn't involve just one big room.

Below is a screenshot of the style this map will have. Lots of hallways, maybe leading in to a bigger room to jump around in, but not too big.

2 quick questions...

1) is that your work or is it someone elses that you plan to use as concept pictures??

2) how do you make the rooms look so light but also have light spots as well on the floor? is it becuase of my entity light_enviroment that it makes everything very dark and lighting doesn't do much? :P

1: It's all my work. What you see in the picture is a screenshot from my map.

2: The light spot in the ceiling is a point_spotlight, but it doesn't affect the floor or walls. I have put out normal lights for that, centered horisontally and vertically. I also repeat the lights every 10 feet or so.

There are also lights behind the plates on the walls that helps.

Why don't you put GTFO in the map name (i.e dm_gtfolostinspace) that way you won't have the problem of another map with the same name and other people will know where it came from :D

***NEW UPDATE***

Added a control room in the end of on of the hallways.
You can see the planets outside the window.

hi i am also making a map in hl2dm (yes another killbox) and how do you make weapons respawn? i can make them spawn once but they wont come back plz help

Haha, i got to here from looking up what our other HL2:DM map was called as it had gone out of my head. Didn't realise the "edit closed" part until I had posted, so edited my post and left it ;]
