could we perhaps get rid of the AWP like most servers do?

Is no fun on a dust 2 server to get taken out in the first seconds before you leave spawn by some twat at the other spawn camping with a AWP. You then have to wait ages...

- "kill that fuckin sniper"
- " GTFO.J this is the first you've fucked me like this. and i dont like it"
- " fuck this, dont we have a sniper whom ping is less than 50 to take out gtfo.j????"

Yes. If there was a working plugin with this update.
When people ask me "Plz" just because it's shorter than "Please" - I feel perfectly justified to answer "No" because it's shorter than "Yes"

This issue was brought up last time we had CSS servers. I'll say now what I said then ... learn to avoid it.

I think 1 or 2 per team is fine.

its not just me, it is widely unpopular and is restricted on many servers. I am just thinking about what will be best for the GTFO CSS servers as they are often short lived. The most popular servers i remember playing on and still see around today have it disabled. We will see how it goes and a restriction of one per team sounds like a good idea

If you look at the stats so far, it seems that it is already the 3rd weapon which has been used for most kills.

Made and tested this plugin today, so it will work. It completely blocks buying and picking up of awp.

No. It will not be blocked. It is part of the game - restricted is enough, as we do in DODS, TF2.

I think it should be limited to 1 or 2 per team, not more.

i would say to leave the game default, how it is :( is done that way so is a bit balanced o.O if he misses ones u get him

We usually keep things pretty vanilla around here and I think that's a good thing. It's not really that much of an issue where it disrupts gameplay for everyone or creates an unfair game (you can pick up an AWP too, after all). Maybe just leave it as is.

I'm not completely unsympathetic to the "remove the awp" cause as it can be frustrating playing against a good awp player, or even just against a team of awp users. A restriction on the awp depending on the map is a good balance in my opinion, the awp is a mechanic of the game and shouldn't be removed completely.

One maybe two per map (depending upon the size of the map) is "ideal" really.

I agree with snuggs and G, having 2 per team would be fine - even then only last night one guy with AWP took out 5 of the CT team on a hostage map.

I was on de_dust, sniped down the map, got a 2 in 1 shot, and another person all in about the space of about 6 seconds

Perhaps a better cure to this problem.... Stop playing on dust2. Its perhaps the worst map in the game, and i would be very happy to see it taken out of GTFO servers. :evil:

lol, dust 2 and office are the most played maps as far as im aware, and im hoping it stays :)

Well last couple days i've been enjoying the new GTFO CS:S servers, and alls ok until someone comes on and starts to whore the AWP. Then someone else gets the AWP. And then everyone leaves the server.

i havent really had a chance to play these past few days, but looking at the total kills per weapon on our servers show that its the 3rd weapon where most kills come from. Which seems strange if its now been restricted to just 2 per team.

Is probably a result of whoring like you said, and that you can get multiple kills in each round with minimal effort. This is what encourages other players to give up and leave.

Also the top 2 players in the rankings for our CSS servers have AWP as their favourite weapon and is where most of their kills come from.

Limits on the AWP is good. I have been playing on maps where it is restricted to a limit of 2 per team. The sad part is that there will always be a race between players on who can get the awp first. Although when restricting the weapon the snipers can only cover certain areas.

In the end no matter how good you are with a AWP the best weapon in my opinion is the P90. Rush 'em with that and you can run over 3 enemys without needing to stop. Now, that is kick ass!
