So you're interested in joining GTFO?
Yes? well read this and I mean READ IT ALL as it has important information.
What you need to know
GTFO is not a conventional competitive clan but more of a community with a "clan" at the heart of it keeping it running. The primary focus is to create and maintain our public servers and become a popular place to play. We may play some matches from time to time if members wish to do so but we are not really a competition clan. You must accept that joining GTFO places only 3 real responsibilities upon you:
- That you enjoy DOD:S, TF2, HL2DM or BF3 and enjoy playing on our servers
- That you want to add to our community by becoming a GTFO member and upholding our server rules
- That you will help keep GTFO running through small financial contributions
Your application may take several weeks to be considered. We take time because we don't recruit 1 week wonders who appear and disappear just as quickly. We will attempt to watch you when you are playing to see you in action and see how you play and work in a team. We also don't let anyone and everyone join, as that pollutes our good name! As a result you might have to wait a little while to get an answer, so don't pester us.
Your application will ultimately be decided upon by G and Al, but the other clan members will be voting and deciding too, so try to keep everyone sweet
What is expected of you
We look for several characteristics in our members. You *MUST* meet all of these criteria to be considered. We look at all players wanting to join for a period of weeks to assess them properly. Below are some of the things we look for.
- You must be a regular player on our servers. That means you have played on them for a fair period of time and you are known to the members. People who turn up out of thin air who we don't know stand little chance.
- You must be known to some members, so be active on the servers, our chat room AND be active on the forum too.
- You must be mature.
- You must be a fairly dedicated player. People who play once a fortnight will not be considered.
- You must pay towards the upkeep of our servers and website. Currently each member pays around £10/month but this will change depending on how many members are spreading the cost and whether we get any kind donations from our players. This is important and is an absolute requirement. "Because I'm 14 and I spent all my pocket money this month" is not an excuse. Note, we use PayPal to send money around as its simpler. Standing Orders to G's bank account are also possible. If you don't think you can commit to spreading the cost do not apply.
- You must agree to uphold the Server Rules laid out in a thread on this forum.
- You must be based in Europe and speak English to a good level.
- You must have a broadband internet connection
