There seems to be a lot of confusion atm over the GTFO tag for those being invited onto the Steam Group - they're using the GTFO tag unaware of the rules. GTFO.Sting yesterday I think was one...

I say "I think" as I can't find a list of the GTFO clan - is there one, or if not, can we have an up-to-date maintained list here so we know who shoud or shouldn't have the tag?

The forum has a link at the bottom (The Team) that maintains a list of GTFO members:

memberlist.php?mode=leaders

However, the GTFO members sometimes change their in game alias so if you do see someone using the GTFO tag that is not on that list, either give the GTFO Steam chat room a go, ask someone there or check out the hlstats pages.

If you want to check whilst ingame, look at the steam group page. All the clan are in the administrators section with current alias and icon. In steam chat clan members have a star next to their name, again with current alias and icon.

You could always add a line that says "The GTFO tag is for GTFO members ONLY, please respect that or you may get a ban" that occasionally (spelling? -_-) pops up in the chat window, just like "Join our forum" and "Donate for instant server access".
Should make it less of a problem and probably not too hard to add in.

we have no problem finding them, all you have to do is go to the rankings section, type search, and type GTFO.

I posted the link for others too Jamie, it is time consuming to trawl the stats getting names and IDs so if other helpful people can pitch in it saves you guys time.

I cant stand clan thieves, its like being a social leech or something. Plus it aint a democracy you dont get popular vote to steal someones tag (but you do get a free ban )

It might be nice to add a line to the server advert "use our tag and you will be banned" (after saying that I havent read the advert in ages, you get numb to it after a while so it may already say that....)

This needs updating ....since we launched the group member thing a lot of regs think they are now GTFO.
Not really their fault tbh....we are banning regs ffs ...who don't know.

As far as I know Bunny all the new bans have been given after several attempts at asking them to remove the tags. Granted its not necessarily their fault that they used GTFO tags given the invites, but it doesn't mean they can get away with it having been asked to remove them.

Since the group member thing, for every ban I've given for this there has been at least one other who has removed the tag when asked, without a problem.

Same here. We've banned a handful of the most obstinate ones, or else those who unfortunately don't speak the language. But with only one exception, they've been for 24 hours only. I don't think this is a problem yet.

It is a problem when the players don't hear you or don't speak english ...

We caused this problem and then we ban them for failing to understand or not speaking english.

At the moment I have a regular who has been banned and had his rank reset who swears he wasn't warned....just banned .

He didn't know about it and when I came online he still had the tag , i told him why and he changed it straightaway.

I haven't unbanned him as it's not my place and will expire tomorrow sometime but it seems a bit much having his rank reset .....

A bit offtopic maybe, but don't ranks get auto-reset after each month? Because I've started all over from 1000 in December and January also.

Yes, they get reset at the start of every month. It discourages the stat whores and eases the load on the server.
