Star Wars: The Old Republic

Postby GTFO. Sly Raccoon » 16 Mar 2011, 18:09

Been following this game since it was announced (with me being a massive Star Wars fan). It's looking like its going to be a really good game. I know theres not a lot of MMORPG players in our community but I was thinking seeing as they have allowed us to start making guilds now whether we should make a GTFO Guild. The gameplay looks like its going to be enjoyable whether or not your a star wars fan too. I'll link the trailers and one of the Developer walk throughs below.

http://www.swtor.com/media/trailers/tar ... alkthrough

Let me know if anyone is interested in this and whether or not we should make a guild!

If the game is good, then YES!

I assume if a guild was started then we'd all have to be the same, either jedi or sith? If it works the same way as WOW that is...

Yep, and anyone suggesting us playing on republic side can go to hell 8)

But what kind of mmo experience is there here? And it's a lot of dedication required for a mmo guild. Many many hours just to level and then end game. Feels like GTFO is to casual for that =/

It will be very early days into the game so many folks will be trying to form their own guilds to see how raids etc. are, both casual players and MMO vets who can put in the hours.

I think we should go the more casual approach. If it lasts it lasts, if it doesn't then the more dedicated players can find more committed guilds.

One thing though, if the guild has to be all Sith or all Jedi, it better fucking be Sith.

Also it appears that you can pre-make a guild!

Sorry to say that the release date is not september but that the targeted release date is 2011. It can be delayed to 2012 FYI.

But I'd be positive to a GTFO empire guild. If we get enough people that is. :D

Aside from personal opinion, is there any reason not to form a guild? We start with GTFO regs and who knows, we might encourage new players to join us over time. It can only be a good thing for the community.

Any suggestions for a name? We could always create one now.

Glad to see the e3 stuff has brought some life to this :) Starting a guild isn't going to cause us any harm so I think we should do it. Empire/Sith all the way too, don't want to be a pansy jedi

Sly has preordered the Collectors Edition. And I will be preordering it too once I have the money back that he owes me :D .

Scared Sithless is a great idea! And it seems that in every thread I look at today, Coffin Stuffer has a pun there!

I'm wanting to go as Bounty Hunter or Sith Assassin. Any race apart from human, perhaps Rattataki, cuz why not? Anyone here played KotOR 1 and 2?
