Terrorists just did 2 attacks in Oslo, Norway

It's a tragedy, a bomb went off in the middle of Oslo, Norway, and some other place outside the city a fake policeman gunned down more than 10 kids/young adults.

Seems that the terrorist might actually be a norwegian. WTF... and many of those shot was "foreigners" it seems, but also white people that arent islamic. The police has interrogated him and he says he doesnt like islam. I don't get this... The guy planted a bomb in the middle of Oslo, and there are more norwegians hurt from it.

Not sure it really counts as terrorism (at least the euro/us defination of it) when it's a national attacking nationals. We had a similar thing here in 1999 with David Copeland nailbombing people (though was targetted at black/indian/gay cultures). From early news it seems like an internal attack on the Norwegian Labour party.

Jesus Christ. This is horrible. It's not even something we can blame al-Qaeda for. It's looking more and more like a home-grown mass murderer with a right-wing agenda, a Norwegian Timothy McVeigh.

EDIT: I can't see the far right flocking to support this guy, whatever their views. Most of his victims seem to be children, for God's sake.

Don't know about the official definition as according to the security services, but my personal definition of it is a deliberate and willful attack on civilians (not a military force) in order to further a political agenda. Nationality doesn't typically come into it - most victims of the IRA were from Northern Ireland, and it's mostly Pakistanis who are killed by Pakistani Taliban attacks. In a legal sense, I'd rather that such crimes be treated as simple mass murder, rather than lending them political legitimacy through the use of the word "terrorist" (but that's a discussion for another time).

Now that the facts are out, what really worries me is that it wasn't Islamic militants. The size of the bomb and the weapons he was armed with means that he cannot have acted on his own. There must be a support network which would have provided the equipment and training, and in turn would have relied on funding from somewhere.
