Early crafters of the new hats get a number next to them.

Think it's worth an unusual? :D

Edit: So far best offer is either $1000, 7 max heads, two unusuals+2 buds, a girlfriend, or a dog.

Lol...nice one kugs, yeees I was watching the posts ever increase on that thread

I tried and failed, got a shooters sola topi :[
Didn't want to craft any of my hats together...not that desperate...unlike mr craft 8 into 1 hat even tho I already had #1

On the plus side, shame it took 2 attempts and then a final 11 minute render, but the TF2 replay editor certainly is the new 'cool kid' on the block :D

maybe sometime, currently there are issues with it causing laggyness to servers and the fact we have very little space at the moment to store the video files that are created on our servers :)

yeah, some update has to come out for the auto-cleanup vars to get working. Settings are from 1 hour to 24 hours.... 1 hour seems nuff for me. Or just forward it to the webspace.

Y the need for it to be server side in the first place, as u still gotta download it from svr to edit then potentially upload again... completly pointless after trying it, and I very much doubt we will be implementing it

I think it needs to be server side because only the server actually knows where all players are at all times. It doesn't send details of players/objects that you can't see to your machine to cut down on the data packet sizes.

That's why demos you record yourself are restricted to player's eye view. With these, you could put the camera anywhere you want in the map. I hope it does get put onto GTFO servers.

ye, i kno thats 'why', but its no better than what STV already provides, other than the ability to download from a web server once replay is recorded...

i personally, just think its a complete baws-up with how they have implemented it... however having said that, there aren't many alternatives that would offer better/similar other than the standard .dem's

think of it this way.... you encounter a guy on the server you suspect of hacking, now you can check the actual occurance why you started thinking that. Also, some become rubbish once someone is in spectator..... cant prove....

no you got replay, you go playing, and download the replay. you just switch to his view and be done with it. nothing they can prevent, no use for them to disable it once some1 goes spectator.

But if GTFO is not supporting it :S

Guess I have to go elsewhere then.

That's why we have admins in the chatroom and demos and stats. We have ways to check.

That pretty lame, just because we make a decision not to implement something at the moment due to the fact,

A. we have next to no space available at the moment to store videos
B. the potential to lag servers out more than what they already do at the moment

you are deciding to leave? I like to think we try out new features and community ideas on a regular basis, but seeing as the reply functions negatives outweigh the positives from a server side owners perspective we don't see the benefits to it at the moment. That's not to say we wont implement it in the future when valve either provide more options and optimize it, or when we look at getting a dedicated file host to store the files on.

I couldn't give a fuck about this replay business. I'd prefer smoother server performance over some STV demo recording capabilities.

TF2 runs like shit as it is without adding this feature on top. I really hope we don't add it to our servers, but if we do, keep it away from #4.

Also, stop sending me your shitty replay videos to get that achievement. I don't care.

yester's update.
Optional updates to Team Fortress 2, Counter-Strike: Source, Day of Defeat: Source and Half-Life 2: Deathmatch are now available. Please run hldsupdatetool to receive the updates. The specific changes include:

Source Engine Changes (CS:S, DoD:S, TF2, HL2:DM)
- Fixed a client crash in the material system.

Team Fortress 2
- Replay publishing system will try to do a rename for local HTTP mode but will manually copy and delete the file if the rename fails, which can happen if the source and destination are on different volumes.
- Fixed threading issues on Linux, which was causing major lag spikes.
- Fixed replay data cleanup system, which cleans up stale data at the end of each round. This asynchronous operation can be explicitly invoked by executing a replay_docleanup command on the server.
- Removed unused convar, replay_cleanup_time.
- Saxxy fanfare music wasn't playing on music channel. Music will only play once per launch now and will not play on a changelevel.

Jason

That should do it, there is cleanup at end of the round, can mount a remote volume and let the http be done by another server. Just put in the [mapname].cfg the "replay_docleanup" command... only LT wont be handy for that.

Some reasoned feedback from a server operator which shows the system still needs a bit of work.

http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/s ... stcount=93

We're not saying it won't be implemented but rather it's still WIP for us (and clearly for Valve) but meantime, yer man here (http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/s ... p=22356466), seems to have done some of the work for them.

The length of time of a Valve contest is of no relevance to our local decision on the implementaiton of replay functionality.
