unfortunately I do get slightly higher choke with rate 30000. and it's not my computer. I play dod these days which is not a really demanding game.

Hello,

I've seen a youtube video about cl_interp settings and I was wondering if me using these settings will get me banned.

cl_interp_ratio 1
cl_interp_all 1
cl_interp 0.01

Looking under net_graph 3, this has dropped my lerp from 100ms to 10-15ms. My choke sometimes raises to 25-30 but my loss sits at 0. The new settings have made the kar a useable weapon again. So to reitierate, will these setting cause issues for me playing on GTFO?

ehm... cl_lagcompensation 1 keeps the hitbox and the model lined up... and that is a mandatory setting if i'm correct. thats why the hitbox does move independantly without being able to shoot it in the video.

having cl_interp_ratio on 1 requires less time (the time between 2 ticks of the server plus a couple ms...) for cl_interp

so say ratio 1, updaterate 66:
cl_interp 0.019 = ( cl_interp_ratio 1 / cl_updaterate 66 ) + 0.004

lerp becomes ~0.01 cos that is your time difference between the server's CURRENT tick and what's AT THAT TIME on your screen.

ping is also an influence tho, cos if you have a higher ping lerp gets higher too....

If you are dealing with a swedish player, needing him to sort rates out. On our keyboards, we do not have the key to open console, so what we have to do is go to Steam->My Games->Right-click game-> Properties->Set Launch Options->Add "-console" and then it will be there starting the game.

Just thought I'd say it since Tommy had experienced this problem dealing with swedes, and couldn't see it mentioned earlier in the thread.

You can assign the console key to something the darn Swedes have got, can't you? At least I think I spotted the option once. :?

bind <key> console (or maybe openconsole)

obviously you have to type the above in console first so you have to do the launch options "-console" w.e.

Open up Options.
Select Keyboard tab.
Select the "Advanced..." button at the bottom.
Ensure that "Enable Developer Console" is ticked/checked.
Click "OK" to close the Keyboard - Advanced window.
Scroll the scroll bar in the Options window right to the bottom.
Change the key for the "Toggle developer console" function.

Hello everyone, this is my first post here.

I really loved the tweaking rates post on the first page and how it was explained, thanks for that! However, I still have a question, I've altered my cfg file and saved it but then after a while I checked it and it was changed (maybe to default?), what should I do to keep it as I left it?

Thanks in advance.

Sounds like you have steam cloud enabled (syncing the config with the steam servers). Either put the settings into an autoexec.cfg located in the same folder the config.cfg is or change the settings ingame via console (this should make them permanent too without steam cloud interfering).
