Re: Website updates

I added a new flash to the top section.
It has a bit of winter/christmas feel to it - with the snow and ice on the weapon barrel.

You might have to hit F5 twise, or clear cache before entering the site if you cant see the changes.

EDIT: I am also testing a new background image with knives. If we somehow decide that we like the old one better, i'll change it back or try something else.

Since you fixed that Echelon the news page is coming up like this. The forum pages are fine still.

Edit: Is on all pages except the main forum pages. Clearing cache makes no difference.

It was something else that caused this, and it was, as usual, an IE bug. Fixed.

Postby GTFO. G » 04 Apr 2009, 12:16

I've increaed the 'main' content part of the website and forums to accomodate hlstatsx, so everything looks more integrated. Check out the stats pages - I know some parts are a bit cramped, will work on that, but otherwise I think it looks better and doesn't look like the stats is a different website.

Also increased the width of the youtube embeds, now that the forum is wider :)

Hey G, i like it but I noticed that HLstats isn't reporting the player limit correctly. (i.e. 20/0)
And the white "background" doesn't continue to the bottom of the page, so you get this:

The stats search doesn't appear to work properly, it only allows you to search css by the looks of it

Again, nothing to do with the website being made wider/hlstats integration, but I'll change that. :)

Anyway G, I've had this question on my mind for a while:

Is there a way you could make the forum automatically widen a little just on threads where a big image is posted? It's pretty annoying when an image just slightly bigger than the forum width gets cut and you end up having to use the scrollbar at the bottom. (For example here - the scrollbar is so far down that you have to scroll for a while just to see the other half of the first pic etc  )

Err, I dont think so Malteserr, but if you attach an image to your post instead of hotlinking, it will get thumbnailed (much nicer)

Flexible width of the forum would be nice, as I have a 1680x1050 screen, and the actual content only takes up the centre of my screen, wasting the rest of the massive screen area. I'm sure other people have even higher-res screens here who would benefit from a flexible width-based layout.

Yeah.

1920x1200 here, and I really wouldn't mind the forum taking up more space lol

flexible widths can become troublesome which is why you see a lot of websites all over the internet go for a fixed+centred approach.
