nzbmatrix?

depends on how often you change your core components (mobo etc). If you change em a lot then get a boxed retail otherwise if you are like me and cling on to dear death then any cheap oem.

You could always phone MS up and claim dead mobo with no direct replacement but you will be on the mercy of the phone guy to get reactivated when you need to.

Do you have a retail "upgradeable" OS? If so then you can get a cheaper upgrade but its a pain to do so.

That's one place you WON'T find it - they specifically ban users from uploading NZBs for any Microsoft software.

If you want to buy it cheap, get an OEM copy: http://www.scan.co.uk/shop/computer-har ... -64bit-oem. Do bear in mind that the install will be tied to your motherboard and is not transferable. For a transferable license you need a retail copy: http://www.scan.co.uk/shop/computer-hardware/all/software/microsoft-windows-7-(retail)

Alternatively, you could get a TechNet Download subscription. Last time I bought one was in late 09. I googled and found a discount code that brought the price down to around £200. Not bad for 10 keys for Windows 7 Ultimate (each of which activates 10 different computers), 10 keys for Office 2010 (ditto) and a key for Windows Server 2008 Enterprise. Plus plenty more free Microsoft software. The only caveat is that you can't use those licenses in a business production environment - business deployment testing and home use are completely allowed though.

Got mine off ebay quite cheap, and a proper retail one too. Will try and find the seller if you're interested.

I had one of those cracked windows versions, and got a "Get Genuine" special price offer, can't remember what it was but it was very cheap. Not sure if Microsoft do this anymore...
